Dr. Tania Sobchuk
Dr. Tania Sobchuk joined the beautiful community of Lake Havasu City in the summer of 2003, right after graduating from Pacific University College of Optometry with Honors. She started Lake Havasu Family Eyecare on April 1, 2005. Since then, she has expanded the clinic and currently the practice has 3 amazing doctors and 20 outstanding team members. August 1, 2016 they moved to the brand new state of the art and expanded facility at 2277 Swanson Ave.
Dr. Sobchuk is originally from British Columbia, Canada. She completed her undergraduate degree with honors, majoring in Microbiology and Biochemistry at the beautiful University of Victoria on Vancouver Island. She grew up on the “wet” west coast of BC on a hobby farm, where she raised sheep and horses. Her parents and one sister still live in BC, so during the summer she can be found cooling off up north.
During her free time, Dr. Sobchuk loves being in the outdoors, especially hanging out with her Golden Retriever Oakley. She is an avid skier and snowboarder and loves mountain biking, hiking and traveling. Dr. Sobchuk is very active in the community of Lake Havasu and is a current member of the London Bridge Rotary Club.
Dr. Brooke Vetter
Dr. Brooke Vetter has been providing care at Lake Havasu Family Eyecare for over 11 years. She joined Dr. Sobchuk after receiving an honorable discharge from the United States Army in the summer of 2007.
Dr. Vetter graduated from the Defiance College in 1999 with a degree in Environmental Science, that summer she was awarded the United States Health Professional Scholarship and began her studies at the Illinois College of Optometry. She graduated Cum Laude from ICO in 2003 and began her training for her military service at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Dr. Vetter served four years in the United States Army as a Captain and was stationed at Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Benning, Georgia and Weeds Army Community Hospital, Fort Irwin, California. During her military career she was awarded the Army Commendation Medal (two awards), Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Medal.
Dr. Vetter married her college sweetheart, Tim, and together they have 4 beautiful children. They chose to call Lake Havasu City home because of the wonderful weather and amazing community. They have not been disappointed. She can often be found at local baseball diamonds, soccer fields, dance recitals or teaching a Sunday school class. She enjoys spending time with her family or training for local races. The Vetter family has found a home in the Community of Lake Havasu.
Dr. Breanna Ruesch
Dr. Ruesch grew up in Medford, Wisconsin with her Mom, Dad, and three younger sisters. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse in 2011, majoring in chemistry and minoring in mathematics. During this time, she was involved in research involving physical chemistry. Results from this research were published in the Journal of Physical Chemistry Part A. Dr. Ruesch also received an award for Outstanding Student of the Year in Physical Chemistry during this time.
Following her time at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, Dr. Ruesch began her studies at The Ohio State University College of Optometry. During optometry school, Dr. Ruesch spent time volunteering at homeless shelters, providing free eye exams to those in need. She also provided free glaucoma screenings to those without health insurance. After graduating Cum Laude from The Ohio State University in 2015, she joined Dr. Sobchuk and Dr. Vetter at Lake Havasu Family Eyecare where she has been practicing for 4 years. Dr. Ruesch is a member of the American Optometric Association and Arizona Optometric Association.
During her free time, Dr. Ruesch enjoys spending time outdoors. She loves hiking, swimming, fishing, and taking walks with her dog, Peanut. In 2018 she married her College sweetheart Dylan. Recently, Dr. Ruesch joined the London Bridge Lion’s Club and is looking forward to giving back to this wonderful community.
Dr. Sandra Davidson
Sandra Davidson, OD is Lake Havasu Family Eyecare’s newest doctor added to their already awesome team. She joined the practice in January of this year.
Dr. Davidson received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry with Distinction, being in the top 10% of her class, in 1989. She attended California State University Fullerton and received her Bachelors of Visual Science graduating Summa Cum Laude from SCCO in 1987. She owned her own private optometry practice in Riverside, CA for nearly 20 years before selling it 2 years ago. There she had a special interest in helping Low Vision patients use their remaining vision to their maximum potential and maintain their independence. She has been President of the Inland Empire Optometric Association and founded an annual educational symposium for optometrists that is still being held more than 18 years later. She is faculty at Loma Linda University Medical School’s Department of Ophthalmology helping to train their residents and a Fellow of the prestigious American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Davidson and her husband Richard have gone on missionary trips to Fiji and an orphanage in Tijuana. Dr. Davidson performed the eye exams and Richard would the make eyeglasses. Quite the team!
Dr. Davidson was born and raised in Southern CA. She has had a part-time home in Lake Havasu City for 20 years and now is working towards making it her full-time residence. Dr. Davidson is a licensed private pilot and loves to paddle her 2-man outrigger canoe with Richard. She also enjoys both water and snow skiing, traveling the world, as well as spending time in her art studio creating unique and original pieces with fused glass and wood.
Dr. Christina Martinez
Dr. Christina Martinez grew up in Lake Havasu City and graduated from Lake Havasu High School in 2003. Dr. Martinez volunteered her time at various local organizations such as Havasu for Youth, at her local church and throughout the community. In 2008, Dr. Martinez began working as a doctor’s assistant for Lake Havasu Family Eye Care. It was during her time as a team member in the LHFE family, where she found her passion for Optometry and decided to pursue it as a career.
Dr. Martinez graduated Summa Cum Laude from ASU Lake Havasu with a Bachelor of Science degree and was immediately accepted into Optometry School. In the summer of 2015, she moved to Oregon with her husband and began attending Pacific University College of Optometry. During her time at Pacific University she volunteered her time providing free eye care to under privileged communities around Oregon. Dr. Martinez graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry May 2019 and happily returned to her home of Lake Havasu. She looks forward to helping our community of patients at Lake Havasu Family Eyecare.
During her free time Dr. Martinez enjoys camping, hiking, cooking, traveling and spending quality time with friends, family and especially her loving husband.
Audra Taylor moved with her family to Lake Havasu City at the age of 5. She graduated from Lake Havasu High School, where she played volleyball and ran track. She then received a volleyball scholarship to Yavapai College in Prescott, where she completed her Associates Degree. Audra then transferred to New Mexico Highlands University where she played 2 more years of volleyball and received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a minor in Marketing. Audra then moved to Las Vegas Nevada, where she married her college sweetheart Prentice and started a family.
In 2004 Audra returned to Lake Havasu City to be closer to her family and friends. Audra is now a proud mom of 2 handsome boys and in 2016 was blessed with a baby girl. Her boys keep her busy at the football field and basketball court. In her spare time, if she has any, she enjoys shopping, the sunshine, and spending time with her family.
In 2008 Audra was presented with a wonderful opportunity, and joined Dr. Sobchuk at Lake Havasu Family Eyecare. Elated with her new position as Practice Administrator, she developed a passion for the optical and ophthalmic industry and continues to learn and grow every day. Now serving as the Practice Administrator and COO of Lake Havasu Family Eyecare, she is excited for years to come. Lake Havasu Family Eyecare is Audra’s second home and she is very grateful for the opportunities that have come her way and is proud to call the people she works with her extended family.
Travis is from Southern California and grew up in Huntington Beach & Seal beach area until his family moved to Anaheim where he graduated from Esperanza High School. Travis loved football and baseball growing up. Soon after graduating school he moved to Santa Clarita, California.
Travis was then introduced into the Optical field and was offered a job as a Lab technician By Dr. John S. Ungari in 1991. This was a family owned Practice and was introduced to his daughter Ursula. Dr. Ungari soon became not only his boss, but also his father in law. Travis and Ursula have been married for 25 years! In 2013 Dr. Ungari sold his Practice and retired. Travis and his wife decided on a new adventure and moved to Lake Havasu City.
In 2013 with 22 years of experience Travis decided to apply at Lake Havasu Family Eyecare. Travis has recently become ABO certified and has grown within the Practice becoming the Optical Manager in 2017. Travis has been a part of Lake Havasu Family Eyecare for 6 years and is excited to see what Is in store for the future. Travis knows it will be exciting, bright and successful.
Tiffany Caley has been a resident in Lake a Havasu City since 1993 and graduated from Lake Havasu High School in 2011 with no intentions of having a career in optometry. She was married in 2015 and now has 2 beautiful boys, 3 crazy dogs, and an amazing husband.
In 2013, she was given an opportunity to become a member of the Lake Havasu Family Eyecare team where she fell in love with the medical field and most of all, fell in love with optometry. She is a Certified Paraoptometric and a Certified National Contact Lens Examiner who leads the clinical team of Lake Havasu Family Eyecare.
Tiffany is extremely passionate about contact lenses and providing patients with the best lenses for their lifestyle and their needs.
She is incredibly grateful for her “work family” and looks forward to the exciting years to come at Lake Havasu Family Eyecare.
Front Office Lead
Julia Fernandes has been a resident of Lake Havasu City for 35 years. In 2004 she graduated from Mohave Community College with her Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts.
In 2011 Julia joined the team at Lake Havasu Family Eyecare as the Patient Care Coordinator. Since she has been with Lake Havasu Family Eyecare she has received her Certification as a Paraoptometric in 2013. She continues to advance and grow with the practice and is now the Front Office Lead.
In her free time, Julia enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves to travel, camp, and relax with her kids.
Julia believes that a great experience is very important and strives to make sure every patient perceives that. She is excited to watch this practice continue to flourish.
Kathy Clark moved with her family from New York in 1973 and has called Lake Havasu City her home for the last 45 years.
Kathy Graduated from Lake Havasu High School in 1980 and attended Mohave Community College.
In 2009 Kathy was given the opportunity to join the team at Lake Havasu Family Eyecare. She has earned her certifications as a Paraoptometric and a Paraoptometric Coder. With Dr. Sobchuk’s passion for education, Kathy is now working towards her certification as a Health Coach. She is extremely proud to be part of such a community-minded practice.
Kathy married her best friend Pete in 2018. During her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with her family.
